Wolf Matzl brings us a surreal journey of a man in Vienna on the search for the elusive Wiener Wurstelprater; literally a man with a sausage head. Masterfully crafted and a combination of live action and paper cutouts, this piece is a testament of progressive animation technique. We never quite understand why this sausage-man quest exists, nor do we need reason, as we are fully engaged in a mysterious hunt and dazzled by the somewhat familiar yet transformed environments. In all seriousness, why take a normal taxi when you have the opportunity to take a ride on a pigeon through the city? Or perhaps a cockroach carriage ride? Only in the mind and art of Wolf Matzl…
