Nothing better than poking fun at the sacrosanct—whether it be heart felt environmental politics or your favorite childhood tv show. Prolific Bent Image Lab’s Director Rob Shaw once again crafts an in-your-face eco-humor piece for the Portlandia series. He draws from the lo-fi innocence of late seventies and early eighties children’s shows to contrast with the cutting-edge urbane and abrasive wit of Portlandia. There is a great Sid and Marty Krofft’s ‘Sigmund and the Sea Monsters‘ feel in the sets and castle, and retro use of hazy narrow depth of field and grainy saturated colors. We eagerly look forward to more tantalizing dolphin shorts from the team.
