Anük Torre Obeid, the producer at Can Can Club tells us about his recent commercial:
-
“The ‘Transformations’ project for Telefónica Perú was a quite long and challenging process to pull off. We combined 2D animation and stop motion in the take, not by digital composite. We designed every model in 3D software and then we made everything flat, cut it out, folded it and glued it together.
DSM was our main animation software, among it’s many features, we like onionskins and drawing on the screen for marks. We used multiple exposures a lot – this feature allowed us to make complex rigging takes, like the one with airplanes flying all around the paper King Kong. We couldn’t just use a “plate” as we usually do, so we had to take several pictures for each frame in a controlled way, and this thing helped us out to know if we made the frame with the proper background shot to make the post-production right.”
