Seven years, 14,000 photos, and over 30 screenings later, we present you The Lighthouse, a creation of Simon Scheiber. This short film has received many awards around the globe and the praise of many viewers. Scheiber took this on as a labor of love, having fully funded the project himself as well as writing, building, animating and editing the entire piece.
We can’t help but be drawn in by the noir-like styling, characterized by high contrast lighting coupled with a black and white palette. The style echoes the very nature of the lighthouse with its bright rotating light in the midst of the darkness. Soon, from the darkness we discover there may be more out there than meets the eye in this surrealistic tale of solace and wonder.
