“Interrupted” is a beautiful and surprising grad film from Ania Hazel Leszczynska from Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. She uses cut colored paper, paint, contrasting ominous and glowing lighting to full effect to create incredibly rich textures, space, mood and tension. One can definitely feel the warm night wind, crackling of leaves and suspense in this swirling painterly short. The angles become subtly skewed Hitchcock style as the menacing stranger rounds the stairs, narrow depth of field creates a close atmosphere, like a voyeuristic intrusion on a dollhouse. Great color and sound design. Looking forward to more from Ania.
