The king of reanimation, Tim Burton, has brought one of his first filmic darlings, Frankenweenie, back to life. The long and highly anticipated full length feature hits theaters October 5th, 2012. Check out the lightning strike lab scene, which uses the DDMX-S2 for precision light orchestration.
The film was shot using over 200 puppets and sets, and stars the voices of Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and Martin Short. The screenplay is by John August, who also wrote ‘Big Fish’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Corpse Bride’. It is full of great classic horror film and early stop motion tributes; including character names such as Victor, Elsa van Helsing, Edgar “E” Gore, and Mr. Burgermeister.
This project is ambitiously coinciding with Burton’s remake of the cult classic ‘Dark Shadows’ featuring Johnny Depp, Eva Green and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Our hair stands on end just waiting for the electrifying release.
